Mercruiser thermostat spacer sleeve made to hold the thermostat in the housing so it functions properly. If broken or instilled wrong the thermostat cannot operate properly as this piece serves functionality to water flow direction in the thermostat housing. Recommended replacing whenever thermostat is replaced as plastic gets brittle with age.
